Singer-songwriter Josh Hendrick was born, raised, and remains in Dallas, Texas. After teaching himself to play the guitar and piano at the age of 13, he began writing songs. Josh’s earliest influences were movie musicals from the 1950s but he soon discovered a love for vocal pop groups like The Beach Boys, The Four Seasons, and The Temptations.

At 16, influenced by artists like Radiohead and Rufus Wainwright, Josh formed his first namesake band, later shortened to Hendrick. The 6-piece band played in and around Dallas for 9 years, opening for artists like The Polyphonic Spree and Ian Moore, but also headlining larger venues such as the Granada Theater & House of Blues. After 2 LPs and an EP, the band dissolved and Josh formed the pop/rock trio DALLAS and released a self-titled EP in 2013.

Since then, Josh has worked with and written songs for several major label artists. He’s worked with producer Malay (John Legend, Frank Ocean, Louis Capaldi, Zayn) and even wrote a song that appeared on an episode of Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet, called Crazy by Iris.

Josh has never stopped writing, singing, and performing new songs. Now a full time husband and father of four, Josh’s first full length solo album Why Don’t You Kiss Her Instead of Talking Her to Death? (July 8, 2025) brings his life of songwriting and influences together in one 12-song eclectic, melodic pop/R&B album. Read more on Last.fm.
