1. Hilary James is a British musician. A vocalist and multi-instrumentalist she plays guitar, mandobass (bass mandolin)[1] and is a singer, and songwriter.[2] She works mostly with her partner Simon Mayor[3] and with their ensemble the Mandolinquents. She also sings and plays acoustic guitar and double bass with western swing trio, Slim Panatella and the Mellow Virginians. She has recorded five acclaimed solo albums and has worked on over twenty other joint projects with Mayor. The duo wrote and presented music education programmes for the BBC for six years and have an extensive a catalogue of recordings for children.
Her most recent CD 'English Sketches' featured in the Sunday Times "Ten best world music albums of 2011".
'Song and Chansons' an album with her sister Janet Giraudo will be released Autumn 2013.
