Explicit Lyrics is a funk/rock band formed in Oslo, Norway in 1996 and their initial lineup consisted of Fridtjof Nilsen ("Joff", guitar), Jarle Bernhoft ("Burn", vocals), Roger Zernichow-Brekke ("Rouge", bass) and Vegard Eriksfallet ("Rage V", drums).

The band was rated as the "hype of the year" in 1996, and released their first single, Flow, in 1997. This year they also played both Quart- and Kalvøya-festival, two of the major Norwegian festivals.

Explicit Lyrics released their first and only album, Lipshave, in 1998. Disappointing sales and reviews caused some frustration within the band, and bassist "Rouge" left them in 1998. The band continiued as a trio until Nilsen and Bernhoft formed Span in 1999. Read more on Last.fm.
