Born and raised in Dallas, Anthony Plant has been playing in and around the Dallas music scene since he was able to drive to gigs. Early exposure to a variety of music has made him a very well rounded musician, with a lot of experience at a young age. His jazz playing has gotten him the unique opportunity to play with many jazz legends, such as Antonio Sanchez (Pat Metheny Group), trumpeter Randy Brecker, saxophonist Ronnie Laws, legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, and the late pianist and composer Frank Mantooth, to name a few.

After spending a year up in Chicago to record a smooth jazz album, he attended the University of North Texas, where he studied classical and jazz guitar with the nationally acclaimed Fred Hamilton. Currently, much of his time is spent playing many times a week freelancing with many different groups, along with teaching up to 20 students a week. His chameleon-like ability to play in any setting or style allows him to be a very effective teacher through experience.

In addition to leading his quintet, Tetra, he also teaches privately, plays with many local artists around Dallas/Ft Worth, and, with his versatility in both acoustic and electric settings, is in top demand as a studio musician.
