There are two known bands using the name, Lovely.

One was a Detroit-based alternative band from the 90's. Led by singer Kim Ray, they were frequently compared to Mazzy Star and The Cranberries. They generated a great deal of buzz in Detroit due to the lineage of the band, which included Hobey Echlin (previously with Majesty Crush) and Todd Cochran (previously with Dusk), along with the charismatic Scott Berry. The band played a series of high-profile shows and recorded a demo that generated a great deal of record industry buzz. There last show ended in chaos, as Kim Ray inexplicably stormed off the stage, followed by Todd Cochran, who hurled his guitar across the stage at the remaining members of the band, mid-song, never to return to the stage.
