Gonzalo Macías Andere (Huamantla, Tlaxcala, June 17, 1958) is a Mexican composer and pianist known especially for his mixed and electroacoustic works.

He began his formal music studies at the Conservatory of Puebla, where he studied piano with Isaías Noriega and Jorge Suárez at the National School of Music; In this same music center he began studying composition with Federico Ibarra Groth. At the National Conservatory of Music he studied 20th-century music analysis with Mario Lavista.

He received a scholarship from the French government to study composition with Sergio Ortega, musical analysis with Betsy Jolas and orchestration with Gérard Grisey.

He studied electroacoustic music at the Boulogne Conservatory in Paris. With a grant from UNAM he was able to attend the Royaumont Foundation. He did his doctoral studies at the University of Lille Nord-de-France, specifically in Lille, with a degree in 2004 with the thesis: “Convergence de la pensée instrumentale et de la pensée électroacoustique: techniques d'écriture mixte, starting from l'analyse de pièces de quatre compositeurs mexicains: Manuel Enriquez, Héctor Quintanar, Javier Álvarez and Gonzalo Macías”, under the address of Jean-Marc Chouvel.

He has teaching experience as a composition professor at the Music School of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla and UNAM. In 1992 he received the Mozart medal by the Austrian Embassy in Mexico and the Domecq. Cultural Foundation

His work has been presented in various countries and cities in Mexico. On October 16, 2001 he presented his electronic piece La Mise à Mort at the SCD Hall in Santiago, Chile. His piece for piano and electronic media Hoquetus was presented at the New Manuel Enriquez Music Forum. He composed the first piece mixed for accordion and electronic device in Mexico.
