Tim Stiles' music can be described as unconventional hip-hop at best. Sometimes comedic and straight to the point, sometimes broad and metaphorical; his dissertations on life, love, politics, and personal relationships tend to radiate with a sense of sincere honesty. The terms 'accessable' and 'sounds like' do not apply here. A lack of pretentiousness and a drive to always create something original continue to separate Tim from the rest of the flock.

Tim started messing around with a pirated copy of Fruity Loops back in 1999 while attending Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA. Soon thereafter a collection of good friends calling themselves Elevated Standards would get together on the weekends to "jam" with a pair of Technics, a laptop, and anything else they could find that made an interesting sound.

What started as a hobby grown from boredom of the bar scene soon expanded to steady solo performances in the Northwest under the alias vs.Stile. Tim's stage debut at a local record store performance with Mr. Lif lit the fuse and led to many other shows through the promotion of Female Fun Records. He soon found himself getting called out to perform alongside such artists as People Under the Stairs, Louis Logic, J. Rawls, and Josh Martinez.

After a move to Seattle, WA in 2005 Tim decided to drop his long-time alias and perform under his birth name, Tim Stiles. Tim has performed with a number of rising Seattle artists including Type, Grieves, and Tulsi. He continues to compose instrumentals, write raps and spoken word, and play shows in the Seattle area.
