CTZN is an American record producer and the operating manager of the Study Music Group label, who cut his teeth producing, collaborating and touring with The Understudies Crew, JB Nimble and instrumental hip hop guru Durazzo between 2008-2013. He would continue to tour throughout 2014-2015 in the duo Poe & CTZN, most notably on Deltron 3030's Event 2 tour.

In 2016 he debuted the cartoon band thegoodnews. - a further collaboration with rapper @notpo3 this time adding illustrator Pete Cosmos to the gang - along with a cast of characters including Del The Funky Homosapien, Juan Alderete & Taka Tozawa from Deltron 3030, as well as UK favorite Jam Baxter. While CTZN tapped legendary mastering engineer Dave Cooley (Madlib, Dilla, Doom) to work on tracks for the groups debut 'The Debt Tape', thegoodnews. crew's 'self-titled' album takes a decidedly more quirky and experimental approach.

Following with a few beat tapes (whatcanisay? and Flying Saucer Beats), the Oakland-based producer would pop back up for series of singles exclusively released with Spotify between 2018-19,
now capped off with the 'ought.um beats' collection. 20 tracks of lofi hip hop and gritty beats to vibe out for the cold months.
