Despite being based in Cumbria, the whole concept of The Muff Wigs came about on a cold winters day in Bootle, Liverpool 2003, when front-men Balc and Akitt were watching a documentary on Sky about ‘merkins’. Already under the influence of copious amouts of various substances, watching a pornstar cavorting around on the telly, picking out her design, being shaven downstairs and finally being ‘fitted’ was just fuel to the fire...1st came the jokes, then with a mighty bang...the idea was born...A band called The Muff Wigs!!!
