Hyphex started playing together in 2003 and is made up of: Guillaume Nouet (vocals), Benjamin Fourmond(guitars), Antoine Thebault (bass) and Olivier Piau (drums).
Until January 22 2007 the band was named Hyphen but due to competition with other bands named the same, the group decided to change their name. The new name is also the name of a hypertension-controling drugprototype called Hyphex, which the band found descriptive for their music.

They have recorded demo material since January 2005.
