Salvadore Poe (previously known as Paul DiBartolo attended Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied jazz arranging and composition.

In the early 90's he founded and led the rock band Spread Eagle, which released two albums on MCA records and included two videos that were aired on MTV. After touring for a few years with this band he decided to put his composing talents to work for movies and television. His first project was a co-composition for the guitar driven film score of The Basketball Diaries, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg, directed by Scott Kalvert.

At around this time Salvadore was also asked to compose the theme opening for VH-1's Rock'n'Roll Picture Show. This successful show ran for several years. He also composed the show opening for VH-1's Behind the Music, which still airs today. Along with these shows Salvadore composed several other pieces for VH-1 as well as for CNN, TNT, SWOWTIME, CBS and the 1998 Winter Olympics. Much of this work was done with Emmy Award winning director/editor Glenn Lazzaro, previously with Division 6 and currently with Crossroads Television.

In 2001 Salvadore moved to Europe where he wrote the songs, music and lyrics, for an entire album of bossanova jazz performed by Swedish singer Lisa Ekdahl. This highly acclaimed album, entitled Lisa Ekdahl sings Salvadore Poe, complete with orchestral arrangements, was very successful throughout Europe and became a Gold selling album in France. From this he was asked to compose for two of France's superstars. He wrote a song, All I Really Want is Love, for one of France's biggest stars, Henri Salvador. He also co-wrote 3 songs with another famous French singer, Elie Semoun. While living in Europe Salvadore composed the music for the short movie, The Mirror, written and directed by New York filmmaker Phil Allocco.

In 2004 Salvadore decided to take a break and moved to India where he lived for three years. There he continued to write songs for his own forthcoming album entitled Weightless. He started a project {artist]KAML with producer Chinmayo.

Now Salvadore has moved back to New York City where he is once again composing for movies and television. His most recent project is the score for a documentary entitled The Good Mother of Abangoh about an orphanage in Cameroon, Africa. This film is produced by Red Thread Productions and directed by Nadine Licostie and will be featuring soon in festivals nationally and internationally. Read more on Last.fm.
