Talent…you may say that you’re born with it, some say it comes from practice. At the age of 6, Drey’s musical abilities were discovered. Maranatha Temple, Michigan is where he began learning to play multiple instruments such as the saxophone, trumpet, as well as percussions in both the church and the school band. At the age of 12, Drey began learning to play the piano and immediately it became his instrument of choice. Drey’s quest to become known as a great overall artist/musician led him to participate in multiple groups both as a vocalist and as a musician and later began to take up the acoustic guitar. During his high school years Drey was a member of two gospel groups, (Righteous and Judah), both performing in numerous churches throughout the metropolitan Detroit area and at several other special events in and about the city.

Drey has had the opportunity to work with many artists and producers and has recently experienced some great success after being chosen for Puffy Combs Making the Band 4 on MTV. Since the television series, Drey has been spending most of his time performing live at major events such as The Chicago All-Star game, B.B. Kings Making the Band Showcase, The Chicago Youth Summer fest, and in recording studios. In 2007 Drey Skonie joined the national R&B recording group Kwiet Storm (KS2) and released the single “Seasons Change” (produced by BJ) and is playing on several stations across the country. Kwiet Storm is currently working on their exciting debut album with an expected release in 2008.
