Bad Request Band is a Brazilian Alternative Rock band formed in 2016 in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the classic Power Trio format, by Yan Pessoa (vocals and bass), Raphael Barradas (drums) and Thiago Barradas (guitar).

## Band Name Origin

Its name refers to a technical term in computing, an area in which the three members work in parallel. The term “Bad Request” (code 400) is an error that occurs when the user enters some incorrect data, close to the “Not Found” error better known by those who are not in the area, the famous 404.

## Our Lyrics Context

The lyrics address topics such as anxiety, depression, burnout, drug abuse, suicide and various situations where mental disorders are present. This is due to the fact that the band members have already gone through situations like this and all the struggle that follows after such an event. The impact is for life.

## Our Musical Influences

The band’s influences are diverse, going mainly through Grunge, Punk, Alternative, Stoner and Classic Rock. In the first 5 years the band acted in the independent scene bringing versions and covers of bands like Silverchair, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, The Offspring, Foo Fighters, Ramones, Bad Religion, Papa Roach, Manic Street Preachers, Wolfmother, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, System of a Down, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys, Joy Division, Radiohead and others.

## About Our First EP: “ERROR!”

During the pandemic (2020) the band went on a brief hiatus and upon returning during the pandemic, with all places closed, they started working on original songs derived from jam sessions that took place during rehearsal. After almost 3 years of work, the band released, in August 2023, their first EP “ERROR!” on all digital platforms that features the tracks “System Not Found”, “C.O.M.A.”, “Bad Reasons” and “Sometimes”. “ERROR!” it is an EP that is difficult to decipher and define its style given the amount of influences present and it shows Rock’s ability to reinvent itself and create new possibilities with a powerful and modern sound. Shortly after the release of the EP, the band also released the video for the song Bad Reasons, available on YouTube.

## Second album: The evocative “Machines”

In 2024, Bad Request Band entered the studio recording process for their highly anticipated LP album, “Machines”. Featuring seven evocative tracks, “Feel This Desire”, “Rolling Away”, “Secrets”, “Modern Life”, “Nothing Like Before”, “Closed Doors” and “Waiting For The Death”, the album reflects the band’s bold artistic evolution. Released on digital platforms in January 2025, Machines delivers a powerful and introspective journey through the complexities of modern life and human emotions.
