Blu Mandella Born Nicholas harris was raised in the Zone 3 region of Atlanta, GA in the Englewood Projects . As a child he played sports well and was first string at all of them yet because he was short, he was dismissed for college and professional ball. However, as a track star he ran the 100 yard dash in under 10.5 seconds. At the age of 12, Blu Mandella’s moved to Ohio, where he attended a performing arts school and became exposed to spoken-word poetry. During his years in Ohio, Blu not only performed at his school but also at various events around his city which gave him a new outlet for his emotions and feelings. The storytelling techniques that Blu used throughout his poetry, shared similarities with a very famous Hip-Hop artist by the name of Tupac Shakur, who Blu Mandella also lists as his only inspiration for wanting to become a rapper. As a teenager, Blu Mandella moved back to his hometown of Atlanta, GA, As Blu began recording music in Atlanta, GA, he released his biggest single to date called “Like Me.” With Magic man records .After the release of the single, it was obvious that Blu Mandella was definitely born to be a star. “Like Me” made it to No. 1 on the Billboard Charts and ignited a national buzz surrounding Blu Mandella. Blu began performing and winning some of the South’s largest music showcases with the famous DJ Greg Street, and other mainstream notables such as Nelly, Jermaine Dupree, Yung Ralph, Stuey Rock, J-Money. Blu Mandella became the DJ & Artist of the Month for Xcitement Magazine, a publication issued by famous Atlanta nightclub, Dancer’s Elite; and Blu Mandella also earned a spot on LOD’s college tour. Now in 2011 with the guidance of Dj Caesah working through soundproof records in Decatur Ga.
