Christoph Reiner Andersson, known for his love of wine, was born on December 19, 1991, in Washington D.C. Christoph spent the first two years of his life living in Germany before relocating to New Orleans, Louisiana, while he was still a toddler. He currently lives in Ellicottville, New York. He is best known for his collaborations with influential artist G-Eazy as his producer and songwriter, as well as his work with numerous other artists such as Dej Loaf and Devon Baldwin.
Beyond his collaborative work, he also produces his own electronic music independently with his own record label, Hurst Recordings. He was also a resident DJ at Electronic Takeover "TKVR" in New Orleans around 2010.

Growing up in New Orleans, Andersson was constantly immersed in music. His musician parents encouraged his interest by buying him a guitar when he was nine months old. His entire family was known for their musical backgrounds, with his grandfather being an opera conductor and his father being a guitarist. His parents brought him up on artists such as Tears for Fears, the Blue Nile, David Sylvian, Japan, Talking Heads, and many more, with his dad being especially passionate about his musical endeavors. Christoph credits his parents for being a major influence on his musical life. The city's rich musical culture and the people he would meet there, such as G-Eazy, went on to further shape his development as a musician.

He attended the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) starting around 2006. At this high school, he was involved in an indie rock band, and later he began producing electronic music, which was popular at the time. He moved on from the rock band and released a few singles and remixes in his first year of production while also picking up different DJ gigs in New Orleans. During this period, he also toured and DJ'd by himself. While at the school he also worked as a recording assistant for Dr. John. He received the Hurst and Helen Hill Memorial Award for Outstanding Accomplishment in Video Production and the Hurst Recordings Award for Outstanding Accomplishment in Audio Production. He graduated from NOCCA in 2010.

In 2009, he met with a group of producers and DJs in the New Orleans area to form what became known as Electronic Takeover (TKVR). TKVR started as a monthly party, usually held on Wednesday, with roughly 50 people attending its early events. Within a year of its conception, it grew to over 500 attendees, prompting a switch to a weekend schedule, typically on Saturday, and sometimes extending into the following Monday. Christoph frequently debuted his tracks and EP's live to everyone attending TKVR.

The music he produced independently went on to be featured on WTUL New Orleans 91.5 FM in 2011, a volunteer-run progressive/alternative radio station based in Tulane University's basement. One of his songs "Getaway" is now part of the album Songs From The Basement, and was broadcast to listeners in the area.

He then went on to study at Loyola University in New Orleans. During this time, he was seeking something new in music that could sustain him, as he grew frustrated and tired with DJing. It was during this period that he became good friends with another student at the school, Gerald Earl Gillum, aka G-Eazy. Christoph's manager reached out to him for a two-week tour, offering him the opportunity to do a 20-minute opening DJ set for G-Eazy if he was interested. On the road, they collaborated and made music together for two weeks. G-Eazy was looking to make more deeper, darker, and more abrasive tones within his music, as he was only just producing by himself at that point. Christoph continued to tour with G-Eazy for the next two years, during which they released These Things Happen. Even before that album was released, they already started work on demos for their next album When It's Dark Out. He would graduate from Loyola University around 2013.

This was his unintentional gateway to moving on from DJing and expanding his musical horizons. It ended up paving the way for new experiences in his life and led him to branch out in many ways to explore his future success. He mentioned his troublesome times acclimating to the environment while touring. At first, he was enthusiastic about it, and even though it was always fun and a good experience for him, he understood the hardships of touring in a cramped bus with 10 other people, not knowing which city they would be in next, and barely having a schedule to follow. He couldn't eat or sleep like he normally would and missed having meals with his family. Each day he would wake up with the crew and search for a bakery, grocery store, and wine stores in his area. Whenever he got the chance, he would stock up on red wine for the trip, his favorite bottle being a 2006 Clos St. Denis he got while touring in the Midwest. He was very thankful for the places he got to see while touring, places he might never have been able to visit otherwise.

Off the tours, he focused more on alternative pop-oriented tunes and solo projects. Even though he loved working with hip-hop, it was not his main glass of wine. He has stated that he misses writing pop songs and wants to get back with a guitar to write his own music. He tries to include various 70s and 80s elements in his work and the music he produces. He continues to have a very helpful management team who keeps him busy and working with new artists, introducing him to projects he may be unfamiliar with.

Christoph continues to be content in his life after being on the road for so long. For him, wine is associated with being at home with his family, giving it great importance in his life. When visiting his family back home in New Orleans, he will always stop with his parents to pop open a bottle, cook some food, and talk. It's where he is happiest in life. Read more on Last.fm.
