Childhood
Since childhood Ermy has shown a talent to sing. At a young age, has often show Ermy permissibility at parties and wedding anniversary relatives in Manado, North Celebes, Indonesia. But the appearance of a new professional school starts classes after grade 3rd junior high school, Ermy often appeared on-stage in a single open stage with the band or accompaniment, like: Meliska, Nada Yudha, De'Inst, De'Logis and De'Nost to hold show-show in Manado and surroundings.

Early career
In 1973, Ermy move to Jakarta and was accepted to sing at the hotel with Melky Marcopolo Goeslow.
Here She was learning much with top singers and musicians of Indonesia, as Deddy Damhudy, Rudy Damhudy, Ivo Nilakresna, Christine Sukandar, Januar Isaac, and others.

In 1974, She recorded phonograph records. In the album, bringing a special Ermy songs belong to Favorite's group called Cinta (Love).
Ermy also had a chance to sing in Copacobana and Tropicana before departure to Malaysia, Singapore, and Bangkok. When the Copacobana and Tropicana, Ermy still bring Indonesia pop songs.
At this time She capable variety of dance rhythms, waltz, chacha, until the hot pop rhythms.

Jazz career
Era of the 1980's
Ermy returned to Indonesia in 1981 and sang in several star hotels before finally choosing to sing in the Jaya Pub, belonging the couple's well-known actress and actor Rima Melati and Franz Tumbuan.
In this place too often sang Salena Jones songs, the legendary jazz singer from the United States.
Elena's songs often sung by Ermy among others, "Sentimental Journey", "Sunmertime in Venice", and "April in Paris".
There is also, Ermy met songwriter and jazz musician, Ireng Maulana, who were later not only partners but also a mentor in music.

They were created album Jazzy Dixie in 1982 with distributed by Irama Tara contains: "Nikmatnya Cinta", "Kidung", "Widuri", "Mimpi", "Benci tapi Rindu", etc.
Of course Ermy welcome presence in a long time jazz lovers look forward to the regeneration of Margie Sigers and Rien Djamain.

A year later, Ermy back with Ireng Maulana, to released Bossas Album which the songs created by Rinto Harahap. Then followed the album Cintaku Abadi (1984) created by Buche Tess and Walau dalam Mimpi (1985) created by David Messakh.

And then She was famous with the song: Kasih, created by Richard Kyoto (1986).
Through this album also Ermy Jazz Singer was named the Best choice questionnaire by tabloid Monitor reader and nominated as best album by BASF Award. Three years later, the work of Ryan Kyoto, "Pasrah" to establish her career in Jazz music.

Era of the 1990s to the present
Entering the early 20th century, Ermy began collaborating with local music and other musicians. In 1991, kolintang album was released titled O Ina Ni Keke with Rupata Group. A year later, She made Siapa Sangka album with Quartet music experts, Fariz RM, Billy JB, Chandra Darusman, and Purwatjaraka.
Collaboration album practically the most successful is "Saat Yang Terindah" with Indra Lesmana who managed to get a Best Album at the prestigious event AMI Sharp Awards in 2000.

In 2007, Ermy a guest star in the latest album of a group of Latin rhythmic music, Primavera.
In Primavera album titled The Beginning is Ermy hummed three songs with latin rhythm of Bossa Nova, which is "Juwita Malam" by Ismail Marzuki, and "Saat-Saat Yang Indah" and "Salahkan" created by Primavera itself.
The end of August 2007, Ermy Kullit released his latest album titled In Di Hatiku. Yopie Item assisted album contains 10 items songs, five of them brand-new songs.
