The Red Lights were born almost immediatley into reality out of a vision had on the morning of may 12, 2008. John Velsor (guitar/vocals) called up cousin David Williams (drums), then they got john's brother Thomas (bass) and preceeded to write and jam for hours and hours on end, beginning to gig frequently within weeks of formation. the three members have a musical chemistry which provides for an organic and true song writing style, as well as making for interesting improvisations; which is a crucial part of the band's sound and performance as well. there sometimes funny, sometimes sincere, sometimes flatout bizarre song writing fuzes together elements of 60's/early 70's psychedelic rock, folk, funk, blues, pop, experimentation, jazz and reggae all set to the back drop of heavy jamming in a lo-fi/garage enviroment to make music that as a whole can only be described as "real"... or atleast as "raw". we're not too worried about the main population liking what we do, we just have a freaking blast doing it.
