Sascha Reimann (* October 2, 1973 in Neuwied) is a German musician, rapper, and actor. He became known as Ferris MC. From 2008 to 2018, he was a permanent member of the band Deichkind under the new stage name Ferris Hilton (a reference to Paris Hilton).
Reimann spent his childhood in Neumünster, Kiel, and finally in Bremen-Tenever. In almost all his music pieces, he addresses his turbulent, not very happy childhood and youth.
He achieved an extended secondary school certificate and completed a degree as a car mechanic – without a driver's license. Alongside, he appeared on radio and television as an actor and voice actor (e.g., in Nicht von schlechten Eltern).
Together with Immo Wischhusen alias FlowinImmO and DJ Pee, he founded the Freaks Association Bremen (F.A.B.) in the early 1990s, alongside his high school and training in Bremen, which quickly gained attention in the then-emerging German rap scene. Soon, they appeared in shows on VIVA, MTV, and various events and festivals. In 1995, they released their first album Freaks on the small hip-hop indie label MZEE, which is still appreciated in the scene today. In 1997, F.A.B. disbanded after massive personal and artistic problems, mainly due to Reimann's excessive drug use and Immo's developing manic depression. Allegedly, F.A.B. was on the verge of signing a major record deal.
In 1998, Reimann moved to Hamburg after several personal and financial problems and joined the Mongo Clikke, where he found stability to get his problems under control and focus on his musical work. He moved in with Tobias Schmidt, alias Tobitob of the group Fünf Sterne deluxe, and found a concert DJ in DJ Stylewarz. Additionally, he featured on other rappers' albums and won several national music awards. In 1999, he released the single Reimemonster with Afrob, which became a big success. Later that year, Reimann released his first solo album Asimetrie and subsequently parted ways with DJ Stylewarz. He released his second album Fertich! in 2001. Both the album and the first single Flash For Ferris MC did not meet commercial expectations. In 2003, his third album Audiobiographie followed. For this, the short film Ferris MC & DJ Stylewarz vs. the living Dead (also known as Ferris MC's Judgement Day) was directed by Timo Rose, but it was only shown during the accompanying tour. Afterward, he collaborated with DSDS fourth-place finalist Vanessa S. on the song Fiesta and released his – initially (see below) – last regular self-titled album in 2004.
In 2004, he appeared in the splatter film Lord of the Undead by amateur filmmaker Timo Rose. In autumn 2005, he stood in front of the camera under the direction of Dominik and Benjamin Reding (Oi! Warning) for the film Für den unbekannten Hund, in which he played the main role of the journeyman Festus. The film was released at the end of 2007. On March 17, 2006, his single Düstere Legenden was released, a track from the best-of album of the same name released on March 31, 2006, which includes numerous remixes. He ran a new musical project, the house and electronic duo Maniax, with musician Marc Thiel alias Marc Deal, under which they toured various clubs in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland as live DJs.
In 2007, the original pilot episode of Charlotte Roche's show Wahrheit oder Pflicht appeared on YouTube. In it were guests Roger Willemsen, Mieze Katz from Mia, Kim Fisher, and Ferris MC. With the words 'Too much anal content for TV. But really great on the internet!' the episode was never broadcast on television.
At the beginning of 2008, Reimann accompanied the group Deichkind on their spring tour. After Deichkind member 'Buddy' left the band following this tour, he initially became a temporary replacement member. After the band was satisfied with Reimann following numerous festival appearances, he became a permanent member of the band from the album Arbeit Nervt onward, performing under the name 'Ferris Hilton.'
In 2009, Reimann appeared in the film Dicke Hose and subsequently in several other productions (e.g., in Tatort).
In 2015, Reimann toured with Deichkind but also pursued solo projects: the result was the album Glück ohne Scherben, released in May. In May 2016, Ferris MC became the face of the advertising campaign for the homepage builder Wix.com and their campaign 'Ich bin ein Wixer.' On February 17, 2017, Ferris Hilton's seventh solo album Asilant was released, which received scathing reviews. In March, he subsequently ended his career as a rapper and announced that he would henceforth produce electronic music under the name 'Ferris.'
In October 2018, Reimann left the band to focus on his solo career. In this, he turned more towards rock music and released the album Wahrscheinlich nie wieder vielleicht in 2019, which received mixed reviews. Madsen served as the backing band for this. In December of the same year, he released the EP Phönix aus der Klapse with Swiss and now also releases through Swiss's label Missglückte Welt. However, he released his 2020 album Missglückte Asimetrie in collaboration with both labels, Missglückte Welt and Arising Empire.
In 2022, Reimann released his tenth solo album Alle hassen Ferris. In the same year, his autobiography FERRIS: Ich habe alles außer Kontrolle. Kein Roman was published. He wrote the book together with his wife, journalist and author Helena Anna Reimann.
