Chef Sol (aka Solomon Goldfarb) is said to have first crawled out of his den in Maryland's Rock Creek woods when a group of local deer were trying to get a jam session going, but couldn't get ahold of the buck who was supposed to be on bass. The minutes-old cub strung a vine between two pine trees and the crisis was averted.
The growing grizzly went on to hone his culinary skills in West Philadelphia, becoming known for his shakshuka, bahn mis, and chilaquiles. The rest of his calories were supplied by Amir and Mohammed, who run the legendary Halal cart on 41st and Walnut.
The call of the mountains summoned Sol to Denver, where he started acquiring instruments and finding other forest creatures to jam with. The songs on Lemon Palms EP were cooked up in his Colorado cave. Some say he still prowls the front range, growling at the moon and topping his fresh caught trout with copious amounts of Old Bay Seasoning.
