Becky Wright was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, graduating from Northside Christian Academy in Turley, and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK (BSEd). A singer and songwriter since childhood, Ms. Wright has recorded five albums and been included on several other recordings as an artist and songwriter and keyboardist.
Wright was named Female Songwriter of the Year at the 2008 King Country Agape Fest (TX), Duo of the Year Winner in 2006 (with fellow artist, Tommy Brandt), and named Oklahoma's Favorite Songwriter in the 2007 Current Readers Choice Awards. Six radio singles have played on radio stations around the world, mostly on Christian Adult Contemporary / Inspirational and Christian Country format stations. She has been interviewed in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Nashville, Chicago, and appeared on several Oklahoma television shows, and the Jimmy Snow Gospel Hour in Nashville.
Becky's influences and styles can be compared to Natalie Grant, Jaci Velasquez, Kathy Triccoli, Amy Grant, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Linda Ronstadt, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Casting Crowns. She has opened or shared stages with Christian music greats such as Salvador, The Isaacs, Michele Pillar, The Imperials, Watermark (Nathan & Christie Nokels), and Stella Parton. In country music, Wright has opened for Jamey Johnson and Bryan White. Robert Jason, producing Wright's current "Heart of Adoption" project has worked with Reba McEntire, Oak Ridge Boys, Alabama, Melissa Manchester, Barry White, Disney, Coca-Cola, and others.
Becky Wright, a happily married mom of nine children (through various means, including adoption) is a frequent speaker at conferences and retreats, as well as a worship leader and musical guest for women's ministry events and church services. Wright is a Staff Missionary of Artists in Christian Testimony, Intl. in Brentwood, TN, and an Artist Associate for Kids Alive Intl. (Orphan rescue ministry).
