At least three artists go by the name Tobi: 1) a Nigerian Canadian rap artist; 2) an underground American hip hop artist; 3) a YouTuber and streamer from England.

1) Oluwatobi Feyisara Ajibolade, known professionally as TOBi, was born in Nigeria and immigrated to Canada with his father at 8 years old. This initial culture shock made TOBi aware intimately of his physical presence and how he was perceived by others. Struggling with this, he turned to music to express his thoughts and emotions. In 2016, he released his debut EP, FYi.

On May 3rd, 2019 TOBi went on to release his debut studio album, STILL, which received high praise from media such as: i-D, BET, Billboard, Paper & L’Officiel. The album explored the multiple facets of masculinity and also the vulnerability he went through shortly after immigration.

2019 would prove to be an impactful year for TOBi, having his single “City Blues" premiered by Zane Lowe, premiering “Beige” with a performance on COLORS, a freestyle on Sway In The Morning, as well as having his song “Ride” featured in HBO’s Ballers. TOBi is kicking off the new decade with a “City Blues” remix featuring The Game.

In October 2020, Tobi released his second studio album, Elements Vol. 1. It won the 2021 Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year, with "Holiday" being nominated for Contemporary R&B/Soul Recording of the Year. He released his third studio album PANIC in 2023. At the Juno Awards of 2024, he won both Rap Album of the Year for Panic, and Rap Single of the Year for "Someone I Knew".

2) Born in Virginia, seventeen year old “tobi”, started making music December of 2021, using it as an escape from their struggles and in hopes to inspire others through their art. Debuting as a feature on a song, tobi showed from the start their determination and ambition to rise through the ranks of the underground.

Slowly making a name for themselves, tobi would go on to drop five EPs in the span of a year, from the very first “gazing on the grave of a man with a dead name.” to the end-of-year EP, “THE END OF A WORLD.” Tobi’s run didn’t end there, dropping one mixtape of remixes and a full length album “now all i do is smile:).” As they progress, tobi is slowly garnering recognition and they remain determined to become a future prominent figure in hip hop.

3) Tobit John "Tobi" Brown, better known as TBJZL, born in London on 8 April 1993, is an English YouTuber, streamer and Internet personality. He is also a member and co-founder of the British YouTube group known as the Sidemen.
