Who is Collieherb? Once dismissed as “just another Reggae Band” COLLIE HERB has emerged from the chaos and confusion of the Reggae band scene as one of the grooviest outfits in the land. In searching ways to share and spread the message of LOVE & PEACE. COLLIE HERB chooses to play Reggae music; with this genre they believe that this will be the easiest way to express the exuberance of their songs. Ironically, considering their supposedly different influences in music, still this young fella became entwined. By dint of playing harder, rhythmic, and groovy than most anyone else, anywhere from fiestas, basketball courts, garage gigs to upscale yuppie hangouts, the band has managed to shake off stereotype. It was 2001 when COLLIE HERB start to play Reggae music, with the help of some people in a reggae scene. With the influence of different Reggae foreign artist such as Bob Marley and the Wailers, Black Slate, Long Beach Dub All Star, Three Plus, and etc. These following influences gave COLLIE HERB their ideas about ROOTS, ISLAND, and DANCEHALL REGGAE. With this kind of preference of music, Collie Herb mastered to play this style of Reggae Music. After 3 yrs of giving positive vibration in the Reggae scene, Collie Herb finally have their official band members. This young reggae lovers are composed of students from 3 different various universities in manila namely as Far Eastern University, Central Colleges of the Philippines and Trinity College. In selecting cover songs and in making original compositions the band are particular on the content of the songs...because they believe in what will be the impact of music to its listeners. Once they start playing, it's the music that comes across. Coño kid and Dreadlock kid, Rude boy or Yuppie, we're all one nation under a groove in the music of Collie Herb's aural assault.
