Since the age of nine, Michael began to take an interest in playing the piano thus starting his first formal lessons. Two years later, he started more intensive studies with Jovita Bernard Copeland from The Academy School of Music, in Clinton, NY. The Academy School of Music enrolled Michael with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, also known as A.B.R.S.M., located in Bedford Square, London, England. Through ABRSM, Michael was taking music theory exams as well as practical exams.

Michael has achieved his Diploma in Piano Performance (DIP-ABRSM) from the Associated Board in 2005. He is four year winner of the Curran Scholarship, second place winner of the Utica Symphony Orchestra Youth Competition Scholarship in 1999 and in 2006 he was the first place winner for both the Barbara Micale Piano Scholarship and Students Honors Award, both were held by Onondaga Community College. With these two awards he was recognized as the “Student of Note” by the Civic Morning Musicals in Syracuse, NY and was asked by the president of the college to give a performance at a board meeting to that was being held.

Michael has performed once a year at Munson Williams (Proctor Institute) in recitals held by the Academy School of Music, as well as volunteering his pianistic sounds for various nursing homes. In the process of studying at the Academy School of Music he gained experience in teaching piano and music theory for the school, as well as playing background music for diverse functions and gatherings. He still provides his services to this day.

Currently, Michael has received his Associates Degree in Piano Performance from Onondaga Community college located in Syracuse, NY and furthering his piano ability. He is in preparation for his LRSM which is the next level of the Practical Board exams, then his last practical exam FRSM. Michael is also in the process of working on another CD consisting of works from Chopin, Liszt, Mozart, Mendelssohn and Rachmaninoff.
