Jimmy McCarthy has written and produced 7 Cd,s and performs live in and around the South Florida area, plus road trips up North. His music is fun listening for all ages. He would probably be considered a country artist but expect almost anything to pop up on his CD,s. He is an Irishman so you will hear a little of the Celtic touch in some cases and he smacks of John Prine when on stage.
His root are from Cleveland Ohio where he played in many rock band from Cleveland,s famous West Side. His most sucessful period was when he was asked to play with the Outsiders to fill in for Walter Nimms, who wrote "Precious and Few". Walter was also from Cleveland's west side. McCarthy moved to Miami where he started a solo career playing around the North Miami area. He was joined by his cousin Bob Leonard , who played piano for Tiffany Shade and also Mink DeVille. They made some demos there , but where not picked up by any lables. Leonard returned up North and McCarthy stayed on and worked with several bands including Big White Shoes. Jimmy now lives on the beach in Englewood FL. where he runs his small boutique recording studio. Jimmy has performed from Cheeseburger in Paradice in Lahaina to time square.
