Like the island of the same name, there is some irony in something so vast and impressive being simultaneously so familiar a prank you are in on. In Fuerteventura's music the catchiness of pop, the heavyness of modern rock and the versatility of prog rock are effortlessly combined. Aleksi Sinisalo is the main writer, vocalist, and provides one of the lead guitars - it s easy to enter his warped world, get into his empty bed, and fly in his saucer.Alongside him, making up a classic rock twin-lead 4-piece, is a talented and experienced band. In the recent past, Markku Ollikainen (guitars and backing vocals), Ville Kyttälä (bass and backing vocals) and Erno Aaltonen (drums), the well oiled machine behind Aleksi, have played anything from reggae to electro, backing for glam rockers and drag artists, cruise ship dinner jazz, marching bands, you name it! It was only for Aleksi's multilayered, yet anthem-like songwriting that these guys would go back playing the sound of the time they first picked up their instruments, now enhanced with 15 years of musical exploration.
