Biography
A native of Southside Chicago, Deathface rose to infamy as Johnny Love, via his early 2000's minimal/french touch parties at the Jerkstore, which ended in both multiple arrests + press from the likes of Timeout Chicago, URB + XLR8R. Love went on to become half of Guns N' Bombs and snapping up a contract from the founder of Kitsuné in '06, and was also a member of the Trouble & Bass crew up until '12. A complex smattering of techno, EBM, black metal and industrial influences over the past decade have manifested the brooding complexity present in Deathface's recent releases, including the Fall of Man EP + From Beneath EP.
Description
CRY FOR BLACK DAWN -- the upcoming release from Deathface -- will rise in 2014, summoning in equal parts the pain of being alive + the endorphins that dull it. It It is only when the thick clouds meet the tar that seeps between black grains of earth that a void opens, evoking the metamorphosis of the underworld. Fans of Aphex, NIN, Prodigy + Crystal Castles will likely find themselves at home in the ephemeral world of CRY FOR BLACK DAWN.
