Keynote Speakerz is the group-project of Dutch (Utrecht based) MC/Producers Master Surreal and Skiggy Rapz. As Keynote Speakerz they both account for 50% of the rhymes and productions as they bridge the gaps between their styles. Their aim is to create “straight up” Hip-hop for open-minded music listeners. They’re set to release the “It’s Like That! E.P.” (vinyl) on October 13th and are working on a full length album slated for release late 2006 (both on Painted Dog Records). The E.P. will be accompanied by a video of the track “It’s Like That!”.
Skiggy Rapz is the winner of the 2003 Grote Prijs van Nederland (the prestigious Dutch prize for up and coming artists). His debut album “Boatdrinks” (2004) was re-released in Japan in 2006 and the “Boatdrinks vinyl E.P.” was distributed worldwide. The last years he performed all across Holland and recorded with various artists. Master Surreal is known in the Dutch hiphop-scene as a do-it-yourself artist. After self-releasing his 2001 album “Evolution (Cultivated Assault p2)” he stepped out of the limelight, mainly focusing on production for acts like Skiggy Rapz, female-MC Tifèn and Wudstik. Surreal is currently working on solo material and new productions for 207, Per.Verz & Misstrezz.
Live on stage the Speakerz rock the crowd with an energetic and convincing two-man set. They have opened shows for major artists like Kanye West, KRS-One, Guru and Pete Rock & CL Smooth.
