Second Nature is a convocation of some of the most prolific and innovative musicians in the world - ambient doyen Tetsu Inoue (of 62 Eulengasse, HAT, Om, Masters of Psychedelic Ambiance, Time², and many, many more), legendary bassist Bill Laswell (aka Sacred System, Divination, Jazzonia; in the groups Praxis, Purple Trap, Painkiller, Last Exit, etc.) and the electronica chameleon Uwe Schmidt (aka Atom Heart, Flextone, Lassigue Bendthaus, Señor Coconut; in the groups DATacide, Jet Chamber, Flanger, etc).
On their self-titled record they intrepidly wander into new territory - pure environmental sounds. Rhythms fade in and out, but the proceedings remain formless and amorphous, tones dissolve into drones, sounds are molded and modified, modulated and man-handled, producing a wide array of textures, both jubilant and morose, pernicious and euphoric.
