I can't say with any accuracy where these heads hail from. Alls I know is as of late, it is the cartoon-scribbled town of New Brunswick that they call home. But the jamminess of this band, and some say their wonderful melodiousness and sheer feelgoodability make their music a joy to hear, (and it just makes you want to play it over and over again until you can sing and be-bop along with every tune, or so it has been said). Tiny snippets of piano and a funky, clunky bass line drive you along the streets of Like Trains and Taxis' melodies and in tracks like "Charlie" you really get the feeling that you're traveling on a cable car or sitting at a busy corner in Brooklyn waiting for a taxi on an 86 degree day but loving every God given second of it. In tracks like "Mirrors" you feel swept away, introspective, and deep just for knowing about this band.
