30YRSL8 is an Ottawa-based progressive rock fusion instrumental band formed in 2004 by a group of local music scene veterans that wanted to do something different than play the cover tunes in the local bars. Prompted by inspiration provided by their musical heroes, such as Uzeb, Porcupine Tree, King Crimson, the Dixie Dregs and others, 30YRSL8 decided to record challenging, yet accessible instrumental music.

They've released two CDs: Elemental, their first in 2005, created the template for their sound and their live shows. Elemental has the earmarks of a band that wanted to explore many genres and styles. L8er..., their second CD released in late 2007, showed a narrowing of style and the band zeroes in an a sometimes heavier overall sound to exploit their developing signature sound.
