2. Abbey at 25, has earned an excellent reputation as singer and performer with the ‘Aye Sanam’ video from the hit album ‘Josh’ featuring various artistes, released last year. ‘ Fidaa’, his solo album has a collection of playful, romantic, upbeat and racy tracks that faithfully mirror Abbey as a person.

Trained by his mother, who is a classical singer, Abbey grew into the tradition of music in the most natural way. Music is simply a way of life at home. The extension of the musical tradition carried over into college life. Playing for a band called Steam, representing Bombay University in musical festivals, and performing in various shows and concerts formed a substantial part of Abbey’s college years. Abbey turned professional at 20, performing in informal surroundings, as well as in pubs and hotels. He is also a trained sound recordist. This training has served him especially well while he worked on his own album. As his voice became more familiar with people within the music industry, Abbey began singing for a number of films and private albums, notably for Anand Raj Anand, Sukhwinder Singh, Lalit Singh, Raju Singh, Leslie Lewis, Santosh Nair and Jayanta Pathak.
