Dear Friend Lyrics

Fuck the world
There's not a day that I don't think of you
You'll be waiting at the gates of hell
You've always understood the meaning of love and devotion
You never failed me
You're buried in me
I wish I had the time to say goodbye
You had the spotlight in you
You never failed me

You're a symbol, a brother, my friend
Bonded together in this life and the next
Your vision, your light will remain in me
True friends don't come and go

You and me against the world
We're bound for glory
We are the one who fall but we get back up
We are the one who fight and we'll never lose hope
We rise, we fall
We're bound for glory
We are the one who fall but we get back up
We are the ones who fight and we'll never lose hope

Is this the price to pay?
Fear the violence in my heart
Always and forever follow the siren that leads me home
I wonder is this all we get for all this life time?
You've always understood the meaning of love and devotion
You never failed me

You're a symbol, a brother, my friend
Bonded together in this life and the next
Your vision, your light will remain in me
True friends don't come and go

You and me against the world
We're bound for glory
We are the one who fall but we get back up
We are the one who fight and we'll never lose hope
We rise, we fall
We're bound for glory
We are the one who fall but we get back up
We are the ones who fight and we'll never lose hope

All these moments will last forever
Now you know, now you know
You're everything that I stand for

(We are the one who fall but we get back up
We are the one who fight and we'll never lose hope)

You and me against the world
We're bound for glory
We are the one who fall but we get back up
We are the one who fight and we'll never lose hope
We rise, we fall
We're bound for glory
We are the one who fall but we get back up
We are the ones who fight and we'll never lose hope

More Than A Thousand was born in Setúbal, Portugal, lives in London, records in Sweden, sings in English and plays universal, driving, contagious rock hard music. The core of this hardworking band has been together since 2001, honing an explosive live show and masterminding a DIY promotional campaign that has built a huge and exuberant following in their native Portugal. They moved to London in 2005 to expand their realities and take their engaging message to a wider audience: The world is a stage and it’s yours to take.
More Than A Thousand’s debut album “The Hollow, Vol. II” is a follow up to the EP “Trailers Are Always More Exciting Than Movies”. “The Hollow, Vol. II”, billed as ‘13 songs about loss, separation and human decay’, is based on the band’s experiences in the last two tumultuous years. Vasco Ramos sings, with occasional help from guitarist Filipe Oliveira. The lineup is rounded out by Sergio Sousa on guitar, bass player Rui Grenhas and drummer Pedro Pais. Filipe, Vasco and Sergio write and produce.

The Hollow, Vol. II was recorded and produced in 2006 at Tonteknik studios in Umea, Sweden, under the supervision of Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lovström, the team that has produced Refused, Poison the Well, Cult of Luna and Hell Is For Heroes.

In 2007, the band decided it was time to release an EP for the fans. Something heavier, direct and with the same ambience present on “Vol.II”. After playing with Metallica and Mastodon in June, they started recording “Vol.III: MAR”. The production was supervised by Miguel Marques throughout summer, in Portugal. The mastering process took place in New York, by Alan Douches (Every Time I Die, Norma Jean, Converge). The band is due to play at Eurosonic festival, in Groningen, January 2008.

More recently, in April 2009, they went to Baltimore, USA, to record the follow-up of Volume III. This time the production was supervised by Paul Leavitt (Gwen Stacy, All Time Low, I Am Ghost), named Volume IV: Make Friends And Enemies.
