Disgust of Us is an American post-punk rock band formed in Oakland, California in 2006. Consisting of two East Coast (Maryland) transplants and two West Coast (California) natives, the female led outfit is singer/guitarist Cheryl Martinez, singer/guitarist Patrick Thomas, bassist Laura Bagnato, and drummer Sam Banker. Their music relies heavily on climactic vocal and guitar melodies over a furious, but still danceable, rhythm section, all within song structures that are unpredictable and exhilarating. They have been described as explosive and emotionally heartfelt, originating a new, bold sound that pays homage to both their pop sensibilities and their punk foundation. www.disgustofus.com
