Scott has released three solo albums to critical acclaim, and he continues to tour and showcase with his new lineup, Scott Sharrard and The Brickyard Band. His latest release, Ante Up has been hailed as “an enjoyable ride with clear intent right from the ‘Put Your Soul Records On’ opener”, hearkening “back to an era when a true music lover had a relationship with their album collection. Taken as a whole, this solid slab of soul is satisfying in ways now lost on the American majority.”

The debut album for Scott Sharrard and The Brickyard Band is due out shortly featuring some exciting special guests. Scott also recently formed the CKS Band with fellow Gregg Allman band member and organ player, Bruce Katz, and current Levon Helm Band drummer, Randy Ciarlante. This powerhouse organ trio will be touring nationally and internationally in 2012 and beyond.

Scott began his career in Wisconsin in the early ’90′s, spending his teenage years attending Milwaukee’s prestigious High School of The Arts by day while spending his nights playing in clubs and touring with local blues legends like Stokes, Willie Higgins, and Harvey Scales, and with such international blues and jazz luminaries as Buddy Miles, Melvin Rhyne, and Clyde Stubblefield. After rising to the top of the local circuit by the age of 19, Scott moved to New York City with his band, The Chesterfields. They recorded and released three albums, toured nationally, and received support and encouragement from people such as Ahmet Ertegun, Russ Titlemen, Rob Thomas and Dr. John.

Over the years, Scott has also performed with such artists as: The Allman Brothers, Levon Helm, Amy Helm, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, Jennifer Johns, Marshall Crenshaw, Kelley Hunt, Katy Pfaffl, Brian Charette, and Jay Collins & The Kings County Band.

The Brickyard Band was formed by Scott Sharrard in the fall of 2011. The band features the original compositions of guitarist/ singer/ songwriter/ producer Scott Sharrard alongside the songs of band mate and songwriter Moses Patrou .

The group also reaches into some heavy interpretations of music by artists as diverse as Raphael Saadiq, Gillian Welch, Bobby Womack and Little Son Jackson. The twin drum power of Diego Voglino and Moses Patrou (who is also featured on vocals and keys) gives this unit a unique pulse in the tradition of early Steely Dan, The Allman Brothers, Joe Cockers Mad & Dogs and Englishmen and James Brown.

Jeff “the claw” Hanley plays the electric Fender jazz bass and the sonic paintings and preachings of Ben Stivers on Hammond B-3 Organ, Wurlitzer and Piano round out the sound. This is old school rock & roll, soul and blues played from the gut and aimed directly at your head and heart.

Their new studio album “Scott Sharrard & The Brickyard Band” was engineered, mixed and co produced by sonic wizard Charlie Martinez (Steely Dan, Keith Richard, Donald Fagen) and features some greasy horn arrangements by Amy Winehouse/Sharon Jones alum Ian Hendrickson-Smith. The album is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2012. The band can be seen live all over NYC and beyond. Read more on Last.fm.
