CONTINGENCE was formed back in 1990 by Deprogrammed Productions' Otto Cate (keyboards, vocals, samples, FX) and Alex Seminara (keyboards, synth, sampling, FX), who write and perform all of the group's material with guitarist Johnny B. and drummer Johnny O. The project was put on hold in the Spring of 1993 while Otto and Alex went on tour with Rorschach Test, a seminal industrial band on the Seattle underground music scene. This is when the working relationship started with Johnny. They had always worked well as a trio, and wrote most of Rorschach's music during their stay with the project. CONTINGENCE had previously released four cassette only projects between 1990 and 1993 and began work on the new CD, Dominion, in April 1994 shortly after they had all left Rorschach Test.
With CONTINGENCE's 5th release, "DOMINION", they had created "A foreboding soundtrack for the 21st Century - extremely intense cyber-psychosis.", that had received an incredible world-wide response, brilliant reviews, and world-wide distribution.........

In 1998, they finished a new EP to be released as a follow up to "Dominion" - however, unbenownst to the band, the studio was soon to be shut down. A government seizure of all studio property took place, which including the band's audio masters. The band has recently discovered a copy of these sessions that were recorded onto a low quality audio cassette. After some careful remastering, the recordings were restored to the highest quality possible, and released exclusively on MP3.COM, as "THE LOST SESSIONS" EP.........

The project's 7th release, titled "NECROPOLIS", is 3 years in the making, and due out Mid 2001. It promises to be much more vicious, and bring you further into the depths of the "DOMINION", the cold, chaotic world brought forth in their previous CD.
