Formed in 2015 in Helsinki, Finland. Pnakotic Vision plays a blend of black and death metal, with a focus on creating a dark and intense atmosphere, but not without some melodic, haunting passages for that Lovecraftian atmosphere. As the name suggests, the bands thematic inspiration are the works of famed cosmic-horror author H.P.Lovecraft, which the band utilises as the basis for their lyrics and album concepts.
Pnakotic Vision's first release was the 2015 demo "Herald of Madness", which showcased the bands affinity for oppressing atmospheres and black/death metal savagery.
The first full-length album "Azathoth" was released in 2019 and garnered some attention in the Finnish scene, but the band did not play any live shows supporting the album.
After an extended period of silence, during which the band worked on new material, the band announced their first live-show set for March 2025. This would see the start of a somewhat more active period for the band and the recording of new material, that had been in the works since the first album in 2019, took place in May 2025.
