Originally formed in the heart of Uptown Chicago, the year 2000.
Seven Oddities Records was built out of frustration with the Underground Hip Hop scene in Chicago. It's founder (DreamTek) had struggled to gain any type of support from the people he knew in the business. it was almost impossible to get studio time, beats or even to get anybody to listen to him for that matter. He also noticed there was alot of raw talent in this city alone that would never get heard due to this same lack of support. As time passed it seemed more doors were being closed in his face in oppose to being opened and THIS, set off something inside of him. He realized if nobody was going to lend that hand needed to get things going, he would have to do it himself. From that point on he made it his mission to create a Record Label that did what the others didn't. Give a home to the neglected, overlooked talent throughout the city. From this point on he made it his mission to learn everything he could about production, mixing, mastering, Turntablism, graphic design etc. His idea was to keep EVERYTHING in house. To never have to outsource to get a project done. Even though the label was founded in the year 2000, it took some years to get where we are now quality wise. Seven Oddities Records is now home to multiple artists that all share a common goal. "Preserve the raw, real Hip Hop" Something that is sadly becoming more and more scarce now a days. From the beats to the lyrics. From the scratches to the content. Everything we make is from the heart and raw. No gimmicks, no help from anybody outside of the family. We put all that we have into this music and we are proud of every piece of it we put out. The label has grown throughout the years and has become well known in the Chicago scene as well as out of state and country. We have gained recognition doing things ourselves and for keeping our vow to never sell out or conform to this new age Rap Pop formula.
