This is the first recording made by "Rock N Roll Folknik" Aaron Lee Tasjan. "The Smile & Nod EP" was recorded by Tasjan's first band from Columbus, OH called Autumn Under Echoes. The band members were Chris Skrobot (guitar), Mark Nye (bass and vocals) and Seth Earnest (drums).

Not too long after the EP was completed, Seth Earnest left the band to join John Ruben's band and Tasjan, Skrobot and Nye reformed the band as Swigtooth with a number of drummers who included Eddie Davis, Dan Crean, Ramblin Rob Heath and Mark Stepro. Skrobot then left the band to join country singer Pat Green. Mark and Aaron played a few short tours as a trio with the aforementioned drummers and then called it quits for the band.

While Nye continues to live in Columbus, OH playing with many different bands, Tasjan remained in Brooklyn, NY where he served for three years as the guitarist, backing vocalist and co-songwriter with Justin Tranter in NYC's Semi Precious Weapons. Tasjan has since relocated to East Nashville, TN, and has released several albums under his own name.

Tasjan recorded one solo album entitled "Hard Love and Free Luck" released to critical acclaim in early 2008 on his own label. He is currently a member of The Madison Square Gardeners http://www.myspace.com/madisonsquaregardeners and is often touring and collaborating with Kevn Kinney (Drivin N Cryin). Read more on Last.fm.
