KLANG!! is two bands.

1) Klang!!! is a mixture of old and new school metal (with death, black, nu, prog, hardcore, rock n roll and what ever makes their day!). The perfect alliance of rythmic and mélodic parts. Beetween brainless wisdom and controled aggressivity. Beetween melancoly and infinite sadness. Dark, twisted, bipolar, unstable ... In one word : Metal !!!!!!!!!!!!

Klang!!! sold over 2500 copies in France of their first 5 tracks MCD, the very pissed off... . Recorded at the LB LAB ( Black Bomb A, L' Esprit du Clan and many more ... ) by Stéphane Buriez ( Loudblast ) the most recognised french metal studio, with one of the most respected person of the french scene! ( Downloadable in full version at http://www.klang-music.com )

They made a french tour of 15 dates in 2004 which gathered over 3700 people. They shared the stage with bands like Gojira (metal, France), Do or Die (hxc, Belgium) Unfold (hxc, Switzerland) , Scarve (death-metal, France) , Black Bomb A (hxc, France), Eths (nu-metal, France) ...

They have recorded their first full lenght CD ( called "After the silence ..." ) between may and july . Mainly with Gre ( BBA, Loudblast, Blockheads...) and Oliv ( Monroe est morte, Ace Out...) assisted by Alesk, JP, Remy and ludwig.
The mixing process has been handled by the mighty Fredrik Nordstrom himself (In flames, Arch Enemy, Dimmu Borgir, Panic! at the disco, Kruger ...) assisted by the "more french than the french themselves" : henrik Udd aka henke rovkuk.

The mastering should put an end to this long waiting period at Finnvox studio with Mika jussila ( Nightwish, Moonspell...)

2) The other is James Falzone & his Chicago-based quartet KLANG.
Started by James in 2006 as a response to a local gig, KLANG features Jason Adashevitz on vibes, Jason Roebke on bass, Tim Daisy on drums and James on clarinet. KLANG plays compositions from all the members of the ensemble and picks up the swing era thread of pairing clarinet and vibes, while also exploring its collective interest in the innovative sounds of Jimmy Giuffre's early small groups of the mid-1950's.

"Klang is the German word for sound or sonority," James explains, "and I often think of the sound of something, whether that be a group, a composition, or a musician, before anything else. The mixing of vibes and clarinet is a sound explored famously by Benny Goodman and Lionel Hampton in the pre-bop era, and then taken up again by Eric Dolphy and Bobby Hutcherson. There is something in the acoustic make-up of the two instruments that allows them to blend well."

"As for the Giuffre connection," James adds, "I've always been taken with his early groups, before the trios with Jim Hall and Bob Brookmeyer, and well before the trios with Paul Bley and Steve Swallow, though I love those trios, too. The earlier groups had a way of using the drums that was less about time keeping and more about making the drums as another element of counterpoint. And, his unique approach to his instrument has fascinated, confused and delighted me beyond explanation since I heard The Jimmy Giuffre Clarinet at 12 years old. "

KLANG has performed at many of Chicago's jazz clubs and festivals including the 2007 Umbrella Festival of Improvised Music and is slated for the 2009 Chicago Jazz Festival. The group has released a live recording on Lumniscence Records and will see the world-wide relase of Tea Music, the debut studio recording to be released August 25, 2009.
