3. Engines are a four-piece rock band based in Helsinki, Finland. The members are Juha (vocals), Janne (bass), Masa (guitar) and Migu (drums). Their "high octane rock 'n' roll" has been influenced by stoner rock, metal, and punk rock.

The band was started in 2004 in the city of Turku and the first demo was recorded in January 2005. Studies and work in different have resulted in line-up changes, leaving two original members (Janne and Juha) in the current incarnation of the band. Previous members include drummer Roni and guitarists Vesa and Ekku.

To avoid getting mixed up with an American jazz band who have unexpectedly adopted the name, Engines have for the time being dropped the article "the" from their name. Legal proceedings are underway.
