In 1987, Rose Marie Vargas, 16 years old, with some friends created the band "Satisfaction".

In 1989, thanks to the efforts of Juan Álvarez (from the Semillero Rock label), they were invited to the program “Sábados Gigantes” and presented for the first time as the group “Venus”.

Due to musical differences, Venus left Semillero Rock in 1991. Since 1992, Rose Marie has continued the project, filling in the empty spaces with other members.

In 1995 "Venus" performed at the famous "Batuta", a venue that was visited by the BMG Label, and this meeting would begin to sign a contract in February 1996. In this way "Venus" became the first all-female rock band from Chile to sign with a multinational label.

In September 1996 (with the Disco Laberinto label), "Venus" released its first album, "Ataque de Zorrita", and on that same release, many journalists realized that Rose Marie was 7 months pregnant and that didn't prevent the band from receiving praise for their live quality. This album allowed Venus to be nominated for the Apes Awards as revelation group of the year.

In 1998, Venus was working on a more Pop album for BMG and on another project that was more to the band's taste. Due to the above, Venus decided to take a more independent path, but one that would meet all her musical expectations. In September of the same year they released their second album “Dolor de Fin de Siglo” supported by Toxi Records. In 1999 they were nominated for the Apes Awards in the category of best video clip for the single "Tu Dolor."

In 2000, Rose Marie and Sara Ugarte worked with Zeta Bosio (Soda Stereo) to release an album with other bands from Argentina for the European market. This work was under the auspices of Sony Music Argentina. Rose Marie's constant trips to the neighboring country caused a feeling of guilt since she greatly missed her daughter, named Venus. Due to the above, she decided to freeze the band's projects.

In 2009, Rose Marie returned with her plans and released her third album “Atrapada”. All lyrics and music are her own. Her reunion with the public was at the “Made in Chile” concert (Teatro Caupolicán), where she surprised everyone when she introduced her daughter, Venus, as part of the band, who at the age of 12 participated in voice and guitar. and keyboard.

Shortly after, Rose Marie freezes her plans again due to an illness (Fibromyalgia), which kept her confined to her house for several years.

Fully recovered in 2017, she resumed her work, changing the name of the band Venus to "Rose de Venus" with a mixed lineup.

Due to the global pandemic in 2020, she launched the album “Acústico en Casa” on digital platforms. Additionally, she releases the singles: Perdí la Esperanza, El Matriarcado, Nada es Realidad and Soy Eterna (August 2020), which will be part of the new album “El Regreso”. Read more on Last.fm.
