Dr. Zoidberg a.k.a. Dj Oyle a.k.a. Russell Carpenter started DJ-ing in 2000 at the age of 21 in the psytrance scene. He became one of the few early progressive psytrance DJs in Hungary. Played mostly the technoid, minimalistic, and twisted progressive psy tunes. Around 2004 he became interested of a lot of other styles of electronic dance music, he only listened to before. He began combining these alternate styles with progressive psytrance, on psy-parties. Nowadays he does not even play psytrance music. The ingredients of his DJ-sets are mostly electroclash, electrohouse, microhouse, minimaltechno, tribalhouse, acidhouse, techhouse, progressive house, minimalfunk, breakbeat and techno. He even plays new-wave electro, garage, dub, reggae, abstract hiphop, nu-jazz, ambient, ethno, etc. You can listen to these sets recently at clubs in Budapest and on electro, or house parties (even psytrance parties), festivals. His style is eclectic and truly twisted (you can call it psychedelic). Sometimes hard, groovy, sexy, finky, wicked, or even easy listening. He likes long, all-night DJ-sets at clubs or parties, because of his eclecticism orientated mind. Since 2005 he's got new, alternate artist names too: Dr. Zoidberg as a member of Protoneon, Sublab, and the official DJ for the biggest hungarian partysite (party.origo.hu), and as Russell Carpenter, a member of the "infamous" Russell Carpenter, Trevor McGregor, Desmond Fergusson -trio.
