With a voice that evokes images of a bygone era of American Roots music, Anna speaks directly to the listener with a memorable and honest lyrical approach. Having already received National airplay and plenty of plaudits from press & Blogs alike for her debut single ‘Let’s Run Away’. Having released her ‘Fall Like That’ E.P in September 2014 Anna is now gearing up for her album release on February 13th 2015.

“I see the E.P as a chance for people to get to know me a little bit better, as well as a little taster of what’s to come as I am currently finishing my debut album at Monique Studios with my band and producer Christian Best (Mick Flannery/O Emperor etc). ”

These sessions see Anna sat behind an old Yamaha upright piano, with a 6 piece band putting the final touches to sensitively record assured performances that highlight the mood of Mitchell’s songs. As a live performer, Anna captures an audience which quickly established her in her home town. Having completed a music Degree at UCC, she became active member of the Cork alt folk band John Blek & the Rats touring throughout Europe, the UK & Ireland. Now releasing her own material, 2014 is already shaping up as a breakthrough year for the Cork based Songstress.

Since the release of her debut E.P Anna has been sharing the stage with some of the world’s leading folk singers & songwriters including Sarah Jarosz , Aoife O’ Donovan, Mick Flannery, Duke Special, Lisa Hannigan & Simone Felice. In fact so impressed was the celebrated American poet and songwriter Simone Felice upon hearing Anna he subsequently invited her to join him and his band on the road for a month long European tour in winter 2014. “I met Simone after we played support to some of his Irish shows earlier in the year; he hung around one night to watch the set and seemed to be impressed! I’m honoured to be asked to join him on his European tour this Winter, it’s a great opportunity for me to play to new audiences and really get myself out there. Mostly I’m looking forward to releasing this E.P and getting back to some amazing Irish venues this Autumn, I have a busy few months ahead, can’t wait”

Having recently purchased two new (second hand) tyres and a new gear box, Anna travelled the country playing gigs and radio sessions in promotion for her single and forthcoming album.
