Don't Bother Calling Lyrics

Don't bother calling, I'll call you
Don't bother calling, I'll call you

I'm not a body, the body is but a shell
I disembody but suffering is sovereign
Still no grasp of reality
The world is a wonderland scene
I don't know what we are
But every cell in the corpus resembles stars
Signal into the sky
God sings to me in reply

Ooh yeah, ooh yeah ooh yeah
Ooh yeah, ooh yeah

Don't bother calling, I'll call you
Don't bother calling, I'll call you

I'm not somebody, somebody would savor us
You need a solid, but I'm made of liquid
Trust in me, I am the son of the sea
And I'll call you when I feel finally free
I don't know what we are
But all I know is I can't go away with you with half a heart

Hm yeah, ha ha ha ha ha
Hm yeah
Hm hm yeah, ha ha ha ha ha

Don't bother calling, I'll call you
Don't bother asking for the truth
Don't bother calling, I'll call you
Don't bother calling, I'll call you

Well, I tried

Moses Sumney is a new Los Angeles-based singer & songwriter.

Growing up, he was so shy that he would write songs avidly but hide them inside his mattress. At 20, he moved out of his parents' house to study creative writing at UCLA and finally gathered the courage to start performing music. After purchasing a beat-up guitar from a friend, he taught himself to play and accompany himself. He grew quickly as an artist at UCLA, soon performing weekly alongside the university's most esteemed musicians. Now graduated, he creates soul-infused folk music using guitar and unique arrangements built on loop pedals.

Recently, SPIN Magazine described him as a "soul-folk warrior".
