In September of 2010, Dan Harwood, Alivia Kleinfeldt, Corinne McKnight, and Emma Witmer met through the Madison Music Foundry, where they all take lessons. They instantly found a connection through their music and formed a band. Over the next 9 months, they recorded a small demo, performed at Bratfest and The Loft, competed at Launchpad, and went through multiple names. In June of 2011, Cal Pocernich joined the band as another guitarist, and the band settled on the final name, Modern Mod. Modern Mod has begun their reign on Madison Area while returning to The Loft to win the Arenacross Battle of the Bands, subsequently playing at the Alliant Energy Coliseum during the Arenacross Track Party. Modern Mod continues to play any and every show that has been a possibility and intend to further explore their love for music and live sound.

Modern Mod's influences vary among members of the group, giving them a unique blend. Corinne McKnight has a pop background, leading to soaring pop melodies over new member Max Werner's edgy riffs. Cal Pocernich's influence of alternative music keeps the band creative with unique rhythms and chords. Alivia Kleinfeldt and Emma Witmer keep the band solid with rhythmic and well in sync bass and drums. Read more on Last.fm.
