Don't Waste the Pretty Lyrics

Dust it off, break it down
Get to what we're talkin' about
Do what we're talkin' about
Don't try and hide it now
Why keep on workin' it out?
You can't keep workin' it out.
'Cause I see how he's putting you down,
I just can't be around
Whatchya doin' this for?
'Cause the light in you's starting to fade
Don't let it get away
Girl you're worth so much more.
Don't waste the pretty on him
Don't waste the pretty on pain
When it gets too much to take, don't give it away
Don't waste the pretty on life
Soon it's gonna fly on by
Whatever way you gotta see it - Don't waste the pretty.
Sit back and breathe it in
Look at how lucky we are
Look at how lucky we are.
This life we're livin' in,
You gotta follow your heart
You know I'm never too far
Away from the pain in your eyes - I can see your disguise
But it's not too late
'Cause I know you can turn this around
Don't be scared, work it out
Listen when I say:
Don't waste the pretty on him
Don't waste the pretty on pain
When it gets too much to take, don't give it away
Don't waste the pretty on life
Soon it's gonna fly on by
Whatever way you gotta see it - Don't waste the pretty
Now, just in case you need remindin'
Well, you're beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
And there ain't no use in you hiding,
Cause you're beautiful, you're beautiful, you're beautiful
Don't waste the pretty on him
Don't waste the pretty on pain
When it gets too much to take - Don't give it away
Don't waste the pretty on life
Soon it's gonna fly on by
Whatever way you gotta see it - Don't waste the pretty
Don't waste the pretty, don't waste the pretty
Don't, Don't, Don't waste the pretty
Don't waste the pretty
Don't, Don't, Don't waste the pretty
Don't waste the pretty, Don't waste the pretty
(Well you're beautiful)
Don't waste the pretty, don't waste the pretty
Don't, Don't, Don't waste the pretty
Don't waste the pretty
Don't, Don't, Don't waste the pretty
Don't waste the pretty, Don't waste the pretty
End.

Allison Iraheta (born April 27, 1992) is a 23-year-old singer from Los Angeles, California. She was the fourth place finalist on the eighth season of American Idol. Her debut album Just Like You was released on December 1, 2009.

Iraheta is a Salvadoran born in Glendale, California. According to her parents, she has been singing since she was a toddler. Before rising to prominence, she usually sang in local Latin supermarkets.

In 2006, Iraheta won the Telemundo reality show Quinceañera, where she sang in both English and Spanish. The prize was a reward of USD $50,000 and a recording contract, but only the reward money was ever granted.

In 2009, Allison Iraheta competed on American Idol. She achieved acclaim for her rock sound and unique style, making it into the finals. Allison remained on the show until being eliminated at the final four, finishing in 4th place. The mentor of that week, Slash, praised Iraheta, saying, "Allison didn't deserve to be voted off so soon. She has amazing potential." American Idol music director Rickey Minor was "absolutely shocked" at her departure.

After her elimination on Idol, Iraheta made guest appearances on Live with Regis and Kelly, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Larry King Live, local FOX television affiliates, and numerous radio stations nation-wide. She performed on the season eight finale of American Idol, including a group medley of Pink's "So What" with her fellow contestants and a duet of "Time After Time" with original artist Cyndi Lauper.
