Alabama Blues Machine is an award-winning blues band that was started in the outskirts of Birmingham, Alabama. The band consists of Bruce Andrews on vocals and harmonica, Ross Roberts on guitars, Clay Swafford on keyboards, Lewis Ross on drums, Eric Onimus on bass, Mike Lingo on trombone, John Remley on saxophone, and Rick White on trumpet.

Each musician from the blues group is a veteran of music and comes from another well established band respectively. However, none of the guys in this blues band expected the project to evolve into what it has evolved to.

Their inspiration comes from BB King, Ray Charles, Jimmy Reed, Freddie King, The Temptations, and even Taj Mahal. The group was honored in being the best blues band in the state of Alabama by winning the “Battle Of The Blues Bands” at the Magic City Blues Society’s annual event.

Alabama Blues Machine had their debut album release in 2009, called Must Be Love. The album was recorded at Ross’s studio Rossongs Studio, which is outside of Birmingham. The album showcases the typical Alabama blues with seven tracks.

Ross Roberts, guitarist and producer, had made his name with Black Mountain back in the 70s and 80s. He took a hiatus from music and playing with Dick’s Hat Band in the 90s and early 2000s. After he decided to make his own studio and eventually met singer Lewis Ross.

Roberts and Ross played with many players while writing music, but eventually settled with the current lineup. The band was a huge only after five gigs, going on the win the “Battle of the Bands.”
