Smoke Detector, outside of being a life-saving household appliance, is a community effort led by Keya Clover, with assistance from Sam Becht, and Ryland Heagy, that sinks into a murky smog of guitars, powerful chord progessions, and gutwrenching harmony. As nostalgic and relatable as they come, Smoke Detector is a testament to the power of top-of-the-line emo songwriting.
