The Orphans formed in May 1995 in the Philly area...more specifically, in and around the area of West Chester, Pennsylvania (which happened to have a nice vibrant punk rock scene back then). The band broke up in June 2000, but reformed for a few reunion shows in October 2004 following the release of "Raise the Youth," a 21-track collection of studio tracks, live tracks, demo tracks, and related nonsense. Although The Orphans no longer play live, we are left with a batch of unique songs conveniently classified as "punk," but also show hints of ska, reggae, and folk. Seek and you shall find... Erik (voice) went on to form Mischief Brew and Fistolo Records with his wife Denise, and their pugs, and continues to suffer from the "Punk Life Crisis." Drew (bass) took up theater and still makes wild and crazy music on his computer, four-track...and works in divorce law by day. Andrew (drums) lived and played music in Brooklyn, NY until suddenly moving to Sarasota to run a diner or some crazy shit like that. Tom (guitar) is an enigma to us all, last we heard he was still swinging a hammer in the Philly suburbs and has a new band where he can wear his guitar high and not worry about being called a hippie.
