Buddy Rich (1917 – 1987) was an American jazz drummer and bandleader. Rich was billed as one of the world's greatest drummers in his lifetime and was known for his virtuoso drumming technique, power, groove, and speed.

Gene Krupa (1909 – 1973) was an American jazz and big band drummer and composer, known for his highly energetic and flamboyant style.
